Our PPIE Group

Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE)

WHY GET INVOLVED?

Age is one of the most common reasons for individuals to leave work before they choose to. We need people from all walks of life to help us understand the role age has had on their experiences of employment and job loss. You can help shape the research we are undertaking to help prevent future workers from job loss.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We need you to share your views, ideas and experiences with a focus on links between employment and age! You don’t need any experience in research or professional academia, we just want your own unique perspective.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Put simply: chatting openly with other volunteers and our researchers.

Our PPIE subcommittee will meet regularly to provide input on the project either online or in person; as part of the group you will be able to:

  • Bring unique insights based on personal experience .
  • Help guide and refine our research questions and objectives.
  • Provide feedback on our study findings.
  • Comment on areas of interest and concern for patients and the public surrounding age and job loss.

HOW WILL I BE SUPPORTED?

We will provide training on being involved in research co-development and keep you updated with the research progress. There will also be opportunities to network, chair meetings and influence our research. You will be supported throughout with financial remuneration for expenses if necessary
